Spotted in the influential Spanish newspaper El Pais: an interview with Arantzazu Gonzalez-Campo from Functional Nanomaterials and Surfaces (ICMAB, Barcelona). She discusses SynEry in the context of one of today’s major challenges, ensuring and maintaining a safe supply of blood products world wide.
“The goal is to achieve a specific function that is biocompatible and that can be manufactured in a pharmaceutical structure that does not need to be preserved in such specific conditions as current donated blood. But nobody knows yet when we will achieve this.”
