Research visit CNTE KU Leuven

Over the past two weeks, the Multicellular Systems Dynamics Lab had the pleasure of hosting Federico Fontana, Ph.D. from the CNTE, Italy (Center for Nanomedicine and Tissue Engineering – Ospedale Niguarda di Milano | Tissue Engineering Unit – Ospedale Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza) within the SynEry 🩸 consortium. Federico’s work at CNTE focuses on the development of computational models to predict the self-assembly behaviour of peptides (SAPs) and peptide nucleic acids (PNAs) across different scales, as well as to study the interactions of these biomolecules with cellular structures.

During these two weeks, Federico worked with researchers Jiří and Konstantinos on a prototype of a coarse-grained model of peptide chains assemblies, using our Mpacts software 👨‍💻 This visit was a perfect opportunity to learn from each other and exchange ideas that will be invaluable in shaping the next steps of the project.
